Core CompetencyThe Coaching Mastery Mentor Certification™ is a comprehensive 40-hour ICF Continuing Coach Education (CCE) program approved for 36 Core Competency (CC) hours and 4 Resource Development (RD) hours. It prepares experienced coaches to become highly skilled mentor coaches who can support other coaches in developing and refining their professional coaching competencies, and supports preparation for the ICF Mentor Coach Specialization (MCS) pathway.
Delivered over 10 interactive sessions, the curriculum covers mentor coaching foundations, ethics, developmental feedback, evaluation calibration, and advanced transformational coaching frameworks — including the DEEPEN Method™ and the IDENTITY Framework™. These proprietary models help participants recognize deeper patterns within coaching conversations, including client narratives, values, emotions, tensions, and transformational shifts.
The learning experience combines instructor-led teaching, live demonstrations, recorded coaching evaluations, peer practice, facilitated reflection, and a supervised practicum. Calibration labs strengthen consistency and rigor in evaluating coaching conversations, while practicum sessions provide opportunities to conduct mentor coaching conversations and receive direct feedback from faculty and peers.
Upon completion, participants are prepared to offer mentor coaching services to coaches pursuing ICF credentials and to lead group mentor coaching programs.
Participants are responsible for completing the required ICF evaluation training (ACC BARS, PCC Markers, MCC BARS, or their equivalent, as applicable) before submitting their Mentor Coach Specialization (MCS) application, as required by the current ICF pathway. ICF eligibility requirements and application pathways may change over time; participants are responsible for reviewing the current ICF Mentor Coach Specialization (MCS) requirements before submitting an application.
